Heavy Duty Swift & Skein-winder™ (HDSS)

Table Top Version	with optional Floor Stand

All versions include the same swift unit. The mechanical system is the same for the Swift and the Skein-winder. This is unique, most swifts cannot perform as a skein-winder because a skein-winder needs to be more rugged and needs to have a counter of some type.

All versions include a handle. So you can use the swift as a skein-winder if you do not need a counter.

Which product is right for you?
Swift	If you only plan to use the Swift to wind yarn balls from existing skeins of yarn, then all that you need is our Swift.
Skein-winder	If you plan to wind yarn onto the Skein-winder from a cone or from another swift or a ball, etc., then get our Skein-winder. It has additional tools (counter and separate yarn guide) that make this activity more functional and capable than the Swift alone.
Floor Stand	If you want to place your Swift or Skein-winder on the floor because you do not have a sturdy table or you simply want to free your table up, then get the stand. It is large, though, and takes up a 26" x 26" square space. You can stand and use it or sit in front of it while you wind.
Counters	We no longer offer the low cost counter that we originally introduced on our skein-winder (which you will see in some of our pictures). It was unreliable in this application so we discontinued it. Since our swift and skein-winder are the same mechanism, we decided to configure the ERC with our Skein-winder. It simply isn't practical to have a skein-winder without a counter. Furthermore, if you are going to have a counter, you need to have the best available with the ability to measures yard, meters, and rotations. Therefore, you will want our very own ERC which is the absolute best counter for skein-winders Electronic Rotation Counter (ERC) or our new EYM+ which is a special version of our Electronic Yarn Meter that can also shut down the Skein-winder while also serving as a standalone Yarn Meter. Either of these systems will make your yardage calculation work very simple and automatic.* *The ERC that fits on top of the Skein-winder is a better choice for pure Skein-winder functions because it does not require that the yarn be measured directly which can be an issue if you want to position the cone underneath the Skein-winder. The ERC measures rotations and converts this data to yardage while the EYM+ actually measures the yarn on its way to the Skein-winder.
Motor Drive	If you want the Skein-winder to automatically wind yarn for you, then get the motor drive system. This system uses our automatic "slip" system which ensures that your yarn will not break in the event that a jam occurs somewhere in the yarn path. Saves time and energy. When used with our ERC, the counter can turn off the motor drive when a pre-determined qty has been measured. A must have for professionals and others who plan on winding a lot of yarn.
Yarn Guide	The Yarn Guide is used for feeding yarn from the floor area to the skein-winder. Includes table clamp. This unit is included with all Skein-winders.
Triple Skein Guide	May 2011- our new Triple Skein Yarn Guides will be introduced. These will allow the user to wind 3 skeins simultaneously on the Swift or Skein-winder. This kit will also have a special Table Yarn Guide that will guide 3 horizontal or vertical yarn paths onto the Triple Yarn Guide. An optional Triple Yarn guide for the floor stand will also be available.
System Approach	Our system is the only one in existence that has all of these capabilities which can be added at any time. Start with the Swift and you can migrate over time all the way to the most advanced system that we offer.
