Yarn Ball Cores™

Nancy's Knit Knacks is pleased to announce the introduction of a systematic solution for transferring yarn from a ball winder.

As we completed the development of our Heavy Duty Ball Winder™, we realized that there was no commercially available solution available for those users who wanted to transfer yarn from their ball winders to a paper tube, etc.

It was pretty obvious that a rigid paper tube, sized correctly, could fill this need for all brands of ball winders. We quickly determined that the following characteristics were required:

• Cores must be rigid and not prone to collapsing.
• Cores must be affordable so users would not hesitate to use them whenever they needed to.
• Cores must be reusable many times.
• Cores must have a means for storing the yarn label.
• Cores must be sized correctly to hold an adequate amount of yarn without being too large or bulky.
• Cores must work with all ball winders.

So, we developed Yarn Ball Cores™

Yarn Ball Cores are available in packages of 10 cores and sell for $6.00 per package. Each package includes instructions and photos explaining how to use the cores. We also sell them in boxes of 50 for $24 (you save 20%)

Our cores can be used with all ball winders. If your ball winder has a spindle diameter of more than 1.25", you can use Yarn Ball Cores™.

* More care needs to be used when using a ball winder that has a smaller diameter spindle (such as the one made by Strauch) than those which have a larger diameter or ones which have an indentation in the top of the spindle (such as the small Royal ® brand ball winders).

Cores are made from white, acid free paper and contain no printing.

If your yarn does not collapse sufficiently to snugly hold to the core, you can attach a #32 rubber band around both ends which will hold the yarn to the core.

Yarn Label - You simply store the yarn label inside the core where is safely stored and accessible. If you no longer have the label, then write down the yarn info on a small piece of paper and roll it inside the Core.
