will need to disable Addit. Addit has caused
problems when used with Palm's Quick Install (click

| eKnit-Kards Desktop is a powerful
Windows based program that runs on your desktop or
laptop computer. It synchronizes with your Palm PDA
(you must own a license for the Palm version as well
in order for this to work completely). The release
of our Desktop version fills a badly needed
requirement that users had for more easily entering
data into eKnit-Kards Palm. It also now makes the
program available to non-PDA users.
The program can either be used as a free-standing
Windows based program or as a combined Windows -
Palm system that syncs data between the two systems.
We do not yet have the Pocket PC version available
that can sync with the Desktop version. The Pocket
PC version will be released during 2006.

- If you have already downloaded and started
using Desktop eKnit-Kards, then simply purchase
it from the start-up screen that appears when
you run the program. That will connect you to
our online software fulfillment center where you
can securely purchase the software.
Be sure to follow the Upgrade instructions or
you could lose your existing data.

about how the Desktop affects/installs the Palm
version

When you install the Desktop program, we
automatically install the new Version 2.30 Palm
version on your computer. When you Sync for the
first time within eKnit-Kards Desktop, we do the
following:
 | We determine if you have Palm Version 2.30 or
higher |
| If you have an older version of eKnit-Kards (such
as 2.20.03), we transfer all of your data to the
Desktop. If you have a version older than 2.20, then
upgrade it to 2.20.03 first from this website,
then proceed with the Desktop install which will
convert 2.20 to 2.30. |
| We then replace the files on your Palm with the
new Version 2.30.02. |
| We then convert your data files to work with the
new files format within the Desktop version. |
| Then we send them back to the Palm. |
| There are a total of 6 syncs that must be done
during the install of the new files to your Palm.
This is a one time process. Thereafter, you simply
will do a single sync from within eKnit-Kards
Desktop (regular syncs on your Palm will not
transfer eKnit-Kards data). |
| Because the file structures are different for
2.30.02 Palm from the prior versions, we need to
convert your data before you can run under the new
2.30.02 and Desktop structures. We cannot allow
users to simply upgrade their 2.20 version to 2.30
because the files structures are different and they
must be converted before they will work. If you want
to upgrade your Palm to 2.30 then you must install
he trial version of our Desktop version which will
handle the changeover easily. Users may not run an
Update program to upgrade from 2.20 to 2.30 since we
have not made one due to the file structure reason
we listed above. |
