- The Power Base Lite is a cost reduced version of our
NKK Power Base. It eliminates some features and modifies others for the
sole purpose of reducing the overall cost of motorizing our ball winder.
This new product now makes it easier to justify the purchase of a
motorized ball winder (or to add a motor to one of our existing ball
winders).
The
Power Base Lite PLUS is
built on the same Lite platform but includes a high speed motor (same motor
as in the high end NKK Power Base).

The main difference
between the 2 power bases is in the electronics system. As a result, the
original Power Base has more bells and whistles and is full featured.
The Power Base Lite does not have all of these features but it very
capably fulfills the primary function of motorizing the Ball Winder and
at a discounted price. The construction of both units is very similar
and incorporates a hardwood cabinet and guard.
Details on some of the
Differences
Instead of a membrane
switch panel, the user has a rotary speed control which some people may
find easier to use. This is an analog control whereas the membrane
switch is digital on the standard Power Base.
The Lite version does not
include a reverse direction function or foot pedal interface. Nor can
it be directly connected to the Electronic Yarn Meter. However, this
does not mean that the user cannot use it with the new Electronic Yarn
Meter, it just means that the Meter cannot automatically turn off the
Power Base.
The
Power Base Lite Plus offers the same higher
speed motor as the NKK Power Base in the standard Lite housing with the
standard Lite features.
